Aurora

While taking a break from social media, I still lived an active lifestyle. I went to concerts, went to the gym a bunch, hung out with friends, and enjoyed myself. Throughout that time I documented a lot of night adventures and encapsulated them in a book, entitled Aurora.

Its a photobook involving night/sunset shoots that lead to a lot of mystery, intrigue, power, and idolatry. It was something I had tried to complete towards the middle of 2019 but didn’t get most of it completed til December 2019 through January 2020.

You can purchase the book through Blurb or contact me directly for bundles and deals.

Spotify 2019 Wrapped

Spotify 2019 wrapped featuring Kid Cudi, Toro Y Moi, Arctic Monkeys and Vince Staples

I like that Spotify is doing this yearly/decade wrap up because its full of knowledge I didn’t know I wanted.

The Arctic Monkeys are the artist for the year for me. Makes sense because of how much I love their discography. Humbug remains my favorite, edging out Favourite Worst Nightmare. And even though their most recent album, Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino, wasn’t what I expected and a lot of fans weren’t fans of it, I still appreciated some of their songs. The Ultracheese is a ballad full of nostalgia, that could played at a graduation, a wedding, or even a funeral.

Star Treatment seems to be the audio embodiment of an artist falling from grace.

Kid Cudi was the artist of the decade for me which makes the most sense too. His last solo album Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin’ is in constant rotation. Fans will fawn over Baptized in Fire but the real gems to me are Rose Golden ft Willow Smith and the Guide featuring Andre 3000. I saw him live when he was touring after the album dropped and I FELT so much. Supposedly, he has new music on the way but I’m in no rush. Take your time perfecting the masterpiece, Cudder.

I can go on and on about this entire list but these are all amazing artists and songs (even though I’m surprised Drake is a top artist and pop rap is my top genre) but I do want to take time out to speak on Jaden Smith. I wasn’t a fan of his music until I gave him a thorough listen because he was opening for Tyler, the Creator on his Igor tour that I got tickets for.

I was pleasantly surprised by Jaden’s sound, features and visuals. I heard a lot of influences in his music but the storytelling of P I N K, the Kid Cudi and Willow features, and even the punk rock tracks set it off for me. His E R Y S album is one of my favorite albums this year because it felt whole to me. The visuals were a continuation from his previous album S Y R E, with neon pink skies and that detail was even noted in his social media page. The videos had the same color schemes, tracks flowed into each other, and all the culminated into his live performace. I’m definitely a fan.

New Playlist is Here! Get the Speakers BOOMIN’!

Hey y’all, as always I’ve been exploring new music. I realized I do like a lot of electronic music but the bass has to be knockin’ and the song has to follow a beat. I made a playlist of electric songs I like on playlist called Seltzer Mix. Of course, the cover was designed by me.

Check it out on my Spotify channel, Notreezy.

Hors D’ouevres

My second Spotify playlist I want you all to listen to is one by the name of Hors D’ouevres. I like dinner parties amongst friends. As I got older, I’ve started to appreciate intimate events where you see nothing but familiar faces and I wanted to encapsulate that musically.

This playlist is riddled with smooth r&b, sensual vibes that go down smooth like a glass of red wine. Jam out to the tunes of Antibalas, Ari Lennox, Kaytranada, The Internet, Vanjess and more. The playlist photo was designed by me as well.

Enjoy, and share with friends!

Word? Magazine

My recent project is Word? Magazine.

This magazine is especially for People of Color, to be able to showcase their work and themselves. The magazine will open up submissions to NYC-based PoC with interests in photography, design, art, music, style and more. Honestly, any creative form of expression works.

I’ve got a dedicated team attached to this project and their input and skills are greater than anything I alone could have amassed. Sometimes it makes me want to cry that there are people who resonate with my idea(s) so  much to be on board with it. Taking time out of their day to help me with this is unbelievable to me. There are finally people who aren’t too “busy” to help someone out. The world needs more people like them.

But for more updates refer to this page or my Instagram. There will come a time where you’ll see it even if you don’t want to.
